Creating a Video Marketing Strategy

Creating-Video-Marketing-Strategy

Video marketing has proved to be one of the best ways to deliver entertaining and informative content at the same time.

Here are some of the things you have to keep in mind before starting:

1. Determine your budget

How much budget can you allot to your video marketing campaign in terms of money and time? Quality is, indeed, important; but so should be the authenticity and the value of the story you want to convey to your audience. You can choose to spend on professional videographers to create your videos or you can just as well buy a good high-definition video camera and create the videos yourself. Remember, authenticity is key.

2. Determine what story to tell

What do you want to convey to your audience? Truth be told, there should be no lack of stories to tell to your audience. Make your story as human as possible.

3. Humanise your story

Don’t just feature your products or services! Make them more compelling by showing the humans behind the organisation. Humanisation is known to generate more engagement as it would give your audience something to relate to.

4. Make it concise

Consider your audience’s varying levels of attention. Make your videos relevant, informative and entertaining without taking too much time.

5. Determine which platforms to share your video content

This is somewhat a tricky, but simple task to do. You have to figure out which social media platforms have the potential to generate more video views and from there, you have to determine which social media platforms you currently have that have existing audiences with decent engagement. If you’re just starting out, Facebook and YouTube are good platforms to start with. You can build your owned social media channels from there.

6. Develop a call-to-action

Without a CTA, your video serves no purpose. Remember that you are using it for marketing purposes and not just for entertainment. What do you want your audience to do after watching your video? What action should you compel them into doing by viewing your content? From here, you can develop a compelling CTA for an effective video marketing strategy.
